Very Hot Killer Swing App : Search Inside The Music

| Look at this very cool Swing application. Wow! I mean wow! I bumped into this at java.net. Check out this research project at Sun Labs which is exploring new methods of searching music by its acoustic content and context. The project is aimed at helping people find and organize their music based on the properties of the music itself: lyrics, musical theme, melody, tempo, rhythm, and instrumentation. This has one of the hottest UIs. Paul Lamere is working on the Search Inside The Music project. You can see the images from the Search Inside the Music project show 3-dimensional visualizations that can be used to explore a very large music collection. The goal of the 'Search Inside the Music' project is to explore new methods of categorizing, indexing and organizing large collections of music to allow more effective ways of searching through these collections. This project will extend music search to search 'inside the music', that is, to search not just titles, keywords and artists, but to search music by music content and context.
