There are three new useful
whitepapers that are worth a look.
The first new whitepaper,
Patterns and Strategies
for Building Document-Based Web Services, with source code
describes building document-based web services. This whitepaper
focuses on document-based interactions and associated patterns and
strategies.
Another new whitepaper,
Developing Web Applications with JavaServer Faces, is a nice look at
JavaServer Faces and the development landscape associated with
JSF. The whitepaper goes through a code examples.

Portlets with Sun Java Studio Enterprise, shows how to use the
wizards in Java
Studio Enterprise to build compliant portlets. The whitepaper
shows how to access Google's web service through a do-it-yourself
