Always reading bits...

Its the shadows and reflections cast from the future that interest me.

Quick Bits : Hippie Completion on NetBeans

posted Sunday, 3 April 2005
Hippie Completion (or as it is sometimes referred to as Hippie Expansion) is a feature that apparently just made it into Eclipse
NetBeans 4.1 Beta Download
and has been in NetBeans for some time and is also found in the Java Studio products.  Tor Norbye's blog mentioned it.  Basically, hippie completion is an editor features which automatically completes the word your typing for you when you press a keybinding.  Say you start to type "import" and you type "im" and hit the keybinding - it will fill in "import".  In NetBeans it is bound to Ctrl-K except on the Mac where it is Command-K.  Try it.
