New Video : Identity Federation

posted Tuesday, 13 February 2007
There is a video on Identity Federation. David Goldsmith of Sun presents a number of issues dealing with business topics, solutions and of course, buzzword compliance (okay - basically this one is simply understanding the buzzwords).  This is a tour of identity and identity federation.  You can find the video here and the PDF here and more resources here.  There are a number of other webcasts that may also be of interest and can be found here.  Note that NetBeans has a number of tutorials on some identity topics.  The first one,  Securing Web Services Using the SAML or UserNameToken Profiles, illustrates how you can enable SAML-based and UserNameToken-based authentication between a web service client and a web service provider using the bundled Access Manager along with the integrated support for the WS-Security standard in Application Server's web services client and server-side containers.  The second one, Securing Web Services Using the Library Token Profile, explains how the IDE uses the Liberty token profile to send the caller's identity to the Calendar Service.
