Always reading bits...

Its the shadows and reflections cast from the future that interest me.

NetBeans 4.2 on Windows Vista - Take A Look

posted Tuesday, 30 August 2005
Awhile back I mentioned that some developers had already been using NetBeans on Microsoft's upcoming Vista release, now Chet Haase blogs that he has been working with Vista and that things look pretty good.  You can judge for yourself.  The image at the right is NetBeans 4.2 running on Mustang on top of Microsoft Windows Vista Beta1.  As Chet mentions there was no need to make the widgets look correct between  XP and Vista.  The work is actually being carried forthe by Mustang... see Bino George's blog on this topic.  By the way the bits for Mustang are available here.  NetBeans is the foundation for Sun's Java Studio Creator and Java Studio Enterprise, as well as many other non-Sun products - so this has very positive implications beyond NetBeans.
