java.net's Java Performance Community - Making Java Performance A Community Effort
posted Tuesday, 23 August 2005
| If you haven't
heard. There is a new community effort around Java
performance. Over the years, I have have requested help from the
Java Performance Group at Sun and become acutely aware of the good work
done by this group. Brian Doherty, Tom Marble, Scott
Oaks and David
Dagastine to name some of the great engineers. [Also Tim
Cramer prior to his new role with NetBeans]. The Java.Net Performance
Community project hopes to become the destination for performance
issues throughout the stack : hardware, OS, Java platform, App Server,
Web Services, Portal, Desktop and Grid. This project originates
with Sun's Java Performance Group and is intended not only as a way of
providing feedback to Sun about Java performance but also as a vehicle
to uplevel performance in the entire Java ecosystem. Community
members are encouraged to contribute links and information to the
site. The site provides discussion forums,
resources and tools. |
