Wow! It has only been a couple of weeks....but look at what people are doing with some JavaFX, the JavaFXpad and an existing code base in a short time. Check out JFXBuilder.  ReportMill has already built a page layout application using aspects of JavaFX.  You can check out the announcement here and here.  ReportMill has been building graphics design software for years - it will be very cool to see what they will build.  Very cool features.... Nice Java app - 3D, transparency, drag- and-drop, database support and more.  In the short time I played with it I found it easy to use - note the rotated text and also the the 2D rectangles and star that I rotated into a 3D image. Very, very cool.  Clicked on the Java Web Start button and presto...
