Interview with Tony Wyant, JavaFX Media Lead Engineer

posted Thursday, 4 December 2008
Recently, while I was in Santa Clara, I had dinner and some really nice Korean food with Tony Wyant, Inyoung Cho, Eugene Bogaart and Isaac (Lego expert).  You probably recognize some of the names if you have been following JavaFX or have attended the wildly successful Sun Tech Days or JavaOne Hands-on-Labs.  Inyoung has been heavily involved in producing some great Tech Days talks and JavaOne Hands-On-Labs. Tony is Sun's lead engineer for JavaFX Media. He is deeply knowledgeable in some very exciting Java and media technologies.  Today he was interviewed by Janice Heiss in the article, Encode Once, Play Anywhere: An Interview with JavaFX Media Lead Engineer Tony Wyant.  This a nice interview that provides some insight into the work on JavaFX Media technologies.  Note that when I attended the Software and Java Ambassador Conference - Tony showed us just how cool the JavaFX Media technologies are - it's easy to create video players and some of the demos were really extremely impressive.  If you get a chance, read the interview.
