Eclipse and NetBeans use different terms for the same thing. Eclipse uses the term "plugin" and NetBeans uses the term 'module'. Does this irritate you ? Do you have a preference ? Do you not care ? You can vote for your preference now.

Wow! Lots of cool new plugins are seeing the light of day. Plugins include a PDF Viewer, JavaScript Editor and way of creating execution profiles. Tim Boudreau, well-known NetBeans evangelist, has contributed a number of editor-centric plugins.
