How-To : Create A Flickr-Based App Using Swing App Framework

posted Thursday, 30 August 2007
> If you went NetBeans Day 2007 in San Francisco you might have seen a demo that showed how easy it was to build a Flickr-based application using NetBeans. It was quite impressive. If you are interested in how it was done, you can find it here.  This demo shows off the Swing Application Framework (JSR-296) support. During the demo you create an application that searches images using Flickr web services based on entered keyword.  Images are displayed as they are found. This, NBDemoFlickr, shows alot of advanced Swing features coupled with a Web 2.0 Flickr API.  This article shows you how to leverage NetBeans 6.0 Milestone 10 (or above),  Matisse (NetBeans GUI Builder), Nimbus look-and-feel and FlickrDemoMaterials project.
